Spring demonstration on Lammefjord, Denmark

One early spring morning at Lammefjord, a new Grimme Router was presented by Grimme Skandinavien and Fårevejle Maskinforretning.

The Router is of a special design with new rolling shapers, requested for years by the large amount of farmers in the Lammefjord region, growing carrots. They need a Router, that can shape the perfect ridges, sufficiently compressed and almost clod-free.

The structure of ridges shaped by GF 75-4 on this specific morning were studied closely and discussed. The dirt is not to be too lose, yet must be without clods. It soon turned out, that the design and number of tines of the GF 75-4 met every demand of the farmers present. "It's amazing how well this Router works" a farmer replied.

There are many good reasons for growing carrots in ridgets. The summer of 2011 proved this, as the large amount of rain and wet fields resulted in carrots with black spots. Growing carrots in ridgets will minimize the risk of carrots growing in water significantly.

Further harvesting will be much easier. As one of the farmers described it: "It is as if the ridges split, when driving over with the harvester. You don't get nearly as much dirt on your carrots, when storing them".
